Claire Mae graduated with honors from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor of science degree in education and an endorsement in reading and early childhood education. She taught kindergarten in El Paso, Texas, for over thirty years. Her book Star Eyes Reaches Stylo is based on her experiences teaching young children about pursuing their dreams. She lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her two daughters, sons-in-laws, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
