Thanks for visiting my Smashwords page! I have been writing poetry for the past twenty years. Because I lean toward the formal in my writing, Romantics like Byron, Shelley, and Keats have always resonated with me. At the same time, my fondness for modern poets like e. e. cummings, Mary Oliver, and W. B. Yeats prevents me from becoming too great a stickler.

I am fascinated by the social and cognitive implications of our use of metaphor in everyday speech. Which is to say, the ways in which the words we use affect our thoughts and actions.
