In the first story "The Caterpillar" a young university student is introduced to the drug subculture. In the beginning, the student starts as a slithering, worm-like creature but gradually transforms into a winged, royal messenger of hope.
The second story, "Smells Fishy" concerns a small-town mayor who seems to have misplaced his moral compass and a twelve-year-old paperboy who is trying to find his.
