Jesus was a great teacher. He always used examples of activities the people knew about in order to teach them what He wanted them to know. When Jesus talked about the "Kingdom of God," he used stories of people doing ordinary things to show His listeners what it meant to live in God's kingdom.

The Good Samaritan (loving your neighbor),
The Lost Sheep (our importance to God), and

LeeDell Stickler is the Senior Editor of the Children's Curriculum Team at The United Methodist Publishing House. She is a certified laboratory leader in the area of younger elementary children and is the author of several books: Out of the Box, O Taste and See That the Lord Is Good, Dig Into the Bible, Bible Brain Teasers, and Jesus Is Born. Before becoming an editor, LeeDell taught elementary school for eleven years. She and her husband live near Nashville, Tennessee.
