ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY This is the true story of Canadian stroke survivor Peter Fee, a mature, professional businessman whose life was drastically impacted when he suffered a stroke in his 50th year. Peter has since been undergoing the process of rehabilitation at a few Toronto area hospitals, including programs of traditional physiotherapy. Having been discharged from outpatient rehab programs, Peter had reached a plateau in his recovery. He then began and continues his quest for alternate and further possibilities of rehab and recovery. After being home for nearly two years since his initial admission to hospital, Peter began researching numerous other avenues, techniques and equipment for self-therapy and recovery which include acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Taoist Tai Chi and other miscellaneous traditional aids. He continues with these options to this day. This is the story of his life including his youth, maturing and growth, professional career and near-death, as well as his physical recovery progress and experiences to date. Peter's story is not complete as of the printing of this book because he is continuing his recovery efforts. For this reason, Peter has already started writing his second book. He continues to make daily progress. He is determined.

Autorenporträt
The author, Peter Fee, has a number of marketing and business related university credits and has managed a number of call centres of between 100 and 200 employees each. Peter was an active individual, involved in coaching kids' sports, swimming, playing guitar, tennis, golf and fastball from his 20's until the day of his stroke.

A true motivator, Peter managed the people in his departments and call centres for about 25 years, encouraging them to be accountable, honest and capable of delivering the best customer service. This was sometimes a difficult trait to deliver even in some of Canada's best call centres.

The author experienced the first of two strokes on February 17, 2003 at the age of 49, a few years too early for this busy lead guitarist and father and step-father of three boys. This, his first book, is based on his life, the fun he had during his youth, and the wonderful friends, health professionals and caregivers he met along his path, including his ordeal and near encounter with death.

Peter has always wanted to write some form of book since he was 13, he recalls, and has since become intrigued with writing about his experiences with his stroke and recovery efforts as a means of therapeutic self-healing considering his brain attack and the subsequent brain damage he encountered throughout his nightmare. Having always enjoyed editing and exercising his grammar and spelling prowess, he and his wife have assembled this chronology of Peter's life and medical crisis in an attempt to share and provide a sample of hope, encouragement and advice to other stroke survivors.

Peter devotes his time today to working hard in his physiotherapy sessions and constantly studying and learning about possible stroke solutions.
