Bacchi, a smart urban feline, lives with his unreliable human mother in a gritty inner-city suburb. She starts a new relationship, leaving her fur-baby bored, lonely and missing his tasty treats. He decides to find diversion around his local neighbourhood. Many ladies are happy with his company and provide abundant cuddles and delicious meals. He is enjoying his life of adventure when one of his new friends, a cat-fancier photographer, decides she wants more from him than he is willing to give. Suddenly our hero has become an unwitting star on social media. Can he get out of the humiliating life of a cat dressed in silly human clothes? Can he avoid being mobbed by cat-mad social media addicts? Funny, yes, but this story raises serious questions about our intense connections with domestic animals, the ethics of interdependence, and the right of non-humans to their freedom.
