Sufism - as the author of this book sees it - is the most wonderful page in which the spirituality of Islam is revealed, and a deep interpretation of this religion that satisfies the emotion and nourishes the heart, in contrast to the dry rational interpretation put forth by theologians and philosophers, and the limited formal interpretation put forth by the jurists.. The author says: "I wrote these pages to highlight some of the features of the picture that summarizes the position of Sufism towards religion, God, and the world: that position that the Sufis were satisfied with, were reassured by, and demanded of themselves and did not demand of others. I called this position "the spiritual revolution in Islam" because Sufism was a revolution. He was sweeping over Islamic conditions and concepts as defined by jurists, theologians, and philosophers, and he is the one who infused the teachings of Islam with a new spirit whose significance was understood by whoever understood it. And whoever misunderstood it misunderstood it."
