Summaries about the lives of American people including the influence of various countries. My name is Eileen Aberin Roldan. I am 57 years old today. I was born in Oakland, California. My father, Celso Caballero Aberin joined the United States Navy and fought for America during WWII. He married my mother, Alicia Natividad, in Baguio City, Philippines, before he came to America. Both of my parents are from provinces that were occupied POW camps during WWII. Celso's family today still inhabits the town Cabanatuan City, and Alicia's family inhabits the town Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija. Celso arrived in America aboard the USS Midway. Many Filipinos and Americans captured at the POW camps endured the brutal Bataan Death March and were held at the Cabanatuan camp. More than 2,500 prisoners died on the camp during the war. On January 30, 1945, United States Army Rangers alongside Filipino fighters liberated more than 500 prisoners from the camp. The Great Raid was a rescue of Allied prisoners of war (POW) and civilians from a Japanese camp near Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. During the Bataan Death March, which lasted 5-10 days, the captives were beaten, shot, bayoneted, and in many cases - beheaded. A large number of those who made it to the camp later died of starvation and disease. Within my family, the Aberin family, I have one sister (Sheila Aberin) and two brothers (Alvin and Celso Jr.) residing in San Diego County, California and Parkland, Florida. Today I am residing in Southwest Riverside County, Menifee, California with two children (Tiffany Roldan and Rachel Roldan). As a child, me and my brothers and sister grew up as Military Navy bratts. I was always in good standing in school and never broke the law. In high school, I endured intensive coursework including Political Science, AP courses, and Independent Studies. I attended San Diego State University immediately after high school, 1984-1988, and studied Journalism, United States History, United States Constitution, and California Government. I worked primarily as a Secretary, Executive Assistant, and Administrative Assistant. I wrote my first book, 'A Synopsis: Essays About Crime and Politics,' and my second book, 'Modern Times in America: Essays About Life and Reality,' to raise critical issues that I believe deserve some attention and awareness - thereby allowing reading and drawing your own conclusions.
