The impact threw ice into the upper atmosphere where it circled the globe. Charley and his large family retreated to their Survival Shelter on their ranch. Everyone had trained with weapons since they might have to defend their shelter or protect their food supply.

The coastal areas around the U.S. were demolished due to the coastal floods and the rising water. Colorado was at a high altitude, but they still got steady rains and washouts. Charley's family survived and went back living to their normal lives; at least as normal as possible since the climate had changed.

This is novel 5 of the series Evolution of a Woman. It has some explicit love scenes.
