Dr. Ibrahim Garbie is currently an Associate Professor in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Sultanate of Oman, and Mechanical Engineering Department at Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Garbie received his Ph.D in Industrial Engineering Department from University of Houston, Texas, USA in 2003, M.Sc. in Manufacturing Processes (1996) and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Production) (1991) from Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt. He has worked as a visiting professor in many Universities. Also, He participated in several national/international educational development programs, consultant and research funded projects. His main area of research during the past 24 years has focused on Manufacturing Processes and Economics, Manufacturing Systems Design, Complexity Analysis, Lean/Leanness in Production Systems, Agile/Agility Systems in Manufacturing systems, Reconfiguration and Sustainability of Manufacturing Enterprises. He has more than 55papers in refereed international journals, conferences, technical reports and book chapters. He is a Senior Member of Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
