Popkova is a Doctor of Science (Economics) and the founder and president of the Institute of Scientific Communications (Russia), as well as the professor of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), Moscow, Russia. Her scientific interests include the theory of economic growth, sustainable development, globalization, humanization of economic growth, emerging markets, social entrepreneurship, and the digital economy and Industry 4.0. Elena G. Popkova organizes Russian and international scientific and practical conferences and is the editor and author of collective monographs, as well as the author of the book “Advanced Issues in the Green Economy and Sustainable Development in Emerging Market Economies” which was published online by Cambridge University. She serves as an editor of international scientific journals, is the specialty chief editor for “Economics of Climate Change - Frontiers in Environmental Economics”, Frontiers Publishing. Elena G. Popkova has published more than 300 works in Russian and foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals and books.
