This collection of poems read like short stories that have spiritual overtones. These poems are very easy to read and understand, yet there are so many life lessons and so much wisdom embodied in these poems. Also, there is a wonderful feeling of gentleness that weaves its way throughout. This book is meant for everyone, young and old alike. There are also several lovely matching illustrations that are next to the poems. This poetry is very inspirational and thought provoking and a pure joy to read for the years to come.

Autorenporträt
James Samuel Gutshall, who goes by the name of Sam, was born in Denver, Colorado, on January 19, 1942. After working ten years in the industrial metal business in Denver, Sam took a big chance when he bought a small hamburger stand in the mountain town of Salida, Colorado, in 1977. Sam and his wife, Linda, and daughters Gina and Nikki moved to their little cabin in Howard, Colorado, the home of 250 nice people and one old sorehead. Sam commuted to his restaurant, thirteen miles away, just about every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sam received his first poem, "Sweet Gentle Rain," when he was in deep prayer during a cold January night in 1986. He jumped out of bed and wrote "Sweet Gentle Rain" in seconds, sitting on the cold bathroom floor. He wouldn't write another poem for almost twenty years until he wrote "Breakers" in October 2005. Since then, he has written several memorable poems. Sam received a trophy from the International Society of Poets for reciting his poem "Breakers" in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2006. Sam is now retired and resides in Oceanside, California, with his wife Linda. They live close to their children and grandson, Nicholas. Sam hopes to continue writing and he hopes that his poems will be inspiring to those that read them!
