Since returning to Chichen Itza, where she works as an archaeological artist, she's been bitter and withdrawn. She's furious about the secrets she's being asked to keep. Luckily, she still has a job … one that will be taking her across the Atlantic to Spain. There, her boss hopes to find clues leading to the New World's greatest lost treasure. Wendy's task? Create a color reproduction of a rare Mayan manuscript, which may or may not hold the answers her employer seeks.
The young artist has doubts about the quixotic quest, but she isn't going to pass up a free trip to Madrid. After all, she's always wanted to see the Prado. But Wendy will soon learn that journeys don't always go according to plan … and as much as she wants to escape her past, her adventure is just beginning.
