Craig Davis has been a sports journalist in South Florida for more than four decades, covering all of the major team sports as well as niche sports including fishing and boating. It was during a 10-year run as an outdoors writer that ideas for characters, setting and events of "Tail of the Lizard" took root. He lives near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his wife, Fran. He is a sports copy editor for the Miami Herald and a contributing columnist for Fivereasonssports.com
