Western Christianity has tried to interpret the Bible through its own lenses. The problem is that it was written from a Jewish perspective, a completely different mindset and culture. When we apply just a little of the Jewish perspective, we find the scriptures open up into a refreshing new dimension that brings it to life. In 'Taken for a Bride' the connectedness of the Bible is celebrated. Starting with the Tranfiguration, Gary takes us on a journey through the Old and New Testament to observe the patterns and intentional correlation. The 'promised Messiah' is trumpeted through seemingly random characters and events as we finally find out what Elijah's exit was really about.
Gary doesnt hold back exploring core biblical themes and even suggests the Passover feast to outlay the history of God's saving plan! Having read this book you will be in no doubt that the bible is 'other than' in how the Holy Spirit has designed its archetecture. Allow your jaw to drop as Joshua, Elisha and Jesus are shown to be connected... then... you are also in that context!
Gary hasn't intended to deliver an adrenelin shot for mission activities. Rather, he has clearly laid out the purpose and plan in your life being taken out of this world as Jesus' bride. You have been Taken for a Bride, maybe you just don't know it yet!

Autorenporträt
In 2001 Gary began writing 'The Cogs of the Kingdom,' a project that would explore what God had intended for believers. Because of the 'other-than' nature of what the Lord was saying to Gary, he walked away from the writing, sometimes for years! However, over time the Lord has strongly impressed upon Gary that He wants this materiel to be available to the Church. In 2015 the Lord gave Gary space to complete the trilogy of the Cogs of the Kingdom, This book is the first of the series: 'Taken for a Bride.' Its intention is to have believers confident about their involvement in the saving plan of God. Gary states that believers are not just involved but implicated by the will of God. "You have been taken out of this world as Jesus' bride, you just don't know it yet!" This would be a typical overarching statement from Gary who wants believer to be 'in proximity to the Lord before they sense a purpose.' Gary Ward is identified as a Bible Teacher by the house church he is part of in Perth Western Australia. With his family he was sent there by Jesus in 2012 to pioneer what he calls 'Biblical Church.' Typically they would meet in homes around food and drink. Eating the meal together Gary would affirm as being something that defines ecclesia and history has taken believers away from this simplicity. Do you like writing 'from the hip?' You won't be disappointing as Gary's writing style has nothing to do with appeasing the popular culture or selling books. "It is truth, and there will be casualties'" Gary says this with no intention to impress with sound-bytes, just deliver the Lord's saving plan and see believers discover their proximity to Jesus and allow him to prepare them for works. Gary was saved in 1989 when Jesus took him by the scruff of the soul. He met Helen in 1992 and married her about a year later. Becky Dan and Rachel miraculously turned up over subsequent years and they all live in Perth Western Australia. Gary and his family have integrated into the street and community they live in. They are believing God can change lives in their proximity by being ordinary and doing church biblically.
