Laurie has been married for thirty-two years, home-schooled her three girls, and is Nana to seven grandchildren. She was in children's ministry for over twenty years. Laurie is very compassionate about women going back to their original God-given destiny and is currently leading a women's group in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She has also taught classes at her church for adults. Her previous book, Good Bye, My Sweet Princess, Goodbye, a bilingual book, was written for children who have lost a pet, for healing and closure.
