Autor

Helen Zink is a growth coach, leadership coach and team coach, with significant hands-on business and leadership experience at a senior level. Helen draws from a large toolkit, including coaching, team coaching, applied positive psychology, change management and many strategic tools and methodologies.

David Clutterbuck is one of the early pioneers of developmental coaching and mentoring and co-founder of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council. Author of more than 70 books, including the first evidence-based titles on coaching culture and team coaching, he is visiting professor at four business schools. David authored the Foreword.

The Team Leader is a senior executive with over 30 years' experience in various large organisations globally. While this is his first contribution to published work, he is passionate about developing and supporting people, hence initiating and committing to the journey this book is based on. His hope is that, by sharing this journey, others undertaking a similar development path will gain from his insight, including other leaders, teams, organisations and coaches.

Tammy Turner is an EMCC and ICF Master Coach and Team Coach, and EMCC Accredited Supervisor. She has authored over 25 articles and textbooks on coaching, supervision and team coaching. Turner International creates organisations of the future through team, and teams of teams, coaching, supervision and team coaching training.

'I've increasingly been working with senior leadership teams and this book is a gem for any coaching professional or team leader. The book details a three-year team development journey and provides multiple perspectives on that journey by Helen, the Team Leader, and other stakeholders. On Helen's part I think it was incredibly brave to put herself on the line and share her wins and learnings - which can only help all of us reading the text become better practitioners. Some of the key takeaways for me were:
1) Need and benefit of having regular scheduled team coaching sessions balancing structure and flexibility - and content (education) and coaching.
2) Benefit of coaches having regular supervision - possibly multiple supervisors.
3) Recognition that the team might not be 100% ready for the journey and that some team members won't come to see the value until years 2 or 3 - but it's important to start anyway!
4) Benefit in shifting the narrative/language from a "high performing team" to a "high value creation team" highlighting the benefits beyond the team to the system - and involving stakeholders in the journey.
5) One-to-one coaching of team members embeds the changes desired.
Of course there were plenty more learnings for me in this book evidenced by the stack of underlining, highlighting and dog earing!'
