Karla (Wunderlin) Unke has been an elementary school counselor in Clinton Iowa since 1997. She has been the handler of her certified professional therapy dog, Teddy, since 2003. Teddy, who retired from school in May 2015, was the longest-working therapy dog in the Clinton Community School District. Over her twelve and a half years as Teddy's handler, Karla utilized him in her work to his fullest potential. Karla lives with her husband, children, and Teddy in Clinton, Iowa.
