Management accounting or managerial accounting is concerned with the provisions and use of accounting information to managers within organizations, to provide them with the basis to make informed business decisions that will allow them to be better equipped in their management and control functions. Financial accounting is concerned at one level with book-keeping i.e. recording daily financial activities, and at a more advanced level with preparation of the final accounts e.g. the profit and loss account and balance sheet. The book discusses the basic concepts and techniques of accounting for management in a student-friendly manner.
