DO YOU WANT TO RELIVE THE WONDERFUL 1970S OF FORMULA 1?

The 1950s saw the beginning of a motor racing competition that would eventually become the biggest motoring event in the world. With the initial dominance of Alfa Romeo and the subsequent appearance of drivers such as Nino Farina, Alberto Ascari, Peter Collins, Stirling Moss and the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio, the foundations were laid for one of the greatest spectacles, where speed and risk attracted more and more fans.

With the growing dominance of British brands such as Vanwall, Cooper and BRM, the 60s arrived, where the competition, overcoming adversities, managed to settle down, giving us legends such as Jack Brabham, Graham Hill, Jim Clark or John Surtees. Technological evolutions such as the monocoque chassis or the first aerodynamic parts made a competition evolve that had already become a passion for many motorsport lovers.

Thus, in the 1970s Formula 1 was already a mass phenomenon that, leaving chivalry aside and filling itself with glamour, gave rise to one of the most exciting decades of motorsport. Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi or Niki Lauda appeared to become eternal legends of Formula 1. Ferrari, always present, returned to compete for new world titles, although to do so it had to face Stewart's Tyrrell, the powerful Lotus with its ground effect, and new emerging protagonists as the decade progressed such as McLaren and Williams, in addition to the Renault turbo.

But the 1970s were much more. Rindt, Hunt, Andretti, Scheckter, Peterson, Reutemann, Alan Jones, Gilles Villeneuve... Undoubtedly, a wonderful decade with great names to remember.

This book recalls the most outstanding anecdotes and its main protagonists in a race after race format to relive these great years as they happened. It is my greatest wish that you can enjoy these pages.

In this book you will find:

- Jackie Stewart's evolution and his best performances to become a Formula 1 legend.

- The posthumous title of Jochen Rindt.

- The emergence of Emerson Fittipaldi and his legendary battles with Stewart.

- The arrival of Niki Lauda to Formula 1 and his driving demonstrations to become one of the best drivers in the world.

- The success of Mario Andretti and the dominance of the Lotus 78 ground effect car.

- Ferrari's successful 70's and the races in which he managed to dominate.

- The first race to be stopped due to a red flag.

- The advancement of safety at events in the 1970s and the pressure from drivers to improve safety.

- The appearance of the first safety car in history.

- The first half-point award for non-completion of a race.

- The tragic Grand Prix in which Stommelen hit several spectators with his single-seater.

- The establishment of the traffic lights for the start of the race.

- The Grand Prix in which Brambilla had an accident after winning the race.

- The races in which Tyrrell decided to participate with a six-wheel single-seater.

- The race in which the Cosworth DFV engine achieved its 100th victory.

- The Grand Prix in which tragedy ended the life of a legend like Peterson.

All this and much more in a race-by-race format to travel back in time through the results and anecdotes of each Formula 1 Grand Prix of the 1970s.
