You will certainly smile; you will probably laugh and you may cry over this charming, heart-warming story of a fallen bird, rescued many years ago by the author; who not only saved it, but raised it till it was an adult and ready to fly away and live free with the other birds. It is written in the form of a narrative poem with beautiful illustrations which will stimulate your child's imagination, and help bring "Petite" to life.

She also becomes best friends with Woof, her name for the family pet dog. Young readers will enjoy this story's vivid imagery and relatable characters and situations, and they'll appreciate the valuable lessons it has to offer through scripture and the poem based on the true story of Petite. Autorenporträt
A native Texan, mother and grandmother, Sheri and her husband are now retired in the Texas Hill Country. She has had a heart for animals, people, and a love for God's creation, since she was a small child. Multiple experiences with rescuing and being in close contact with a variety of animals were the inspiration for this book. Her hope is to honor God, and to depict His great and unconditional love for all creation. She grew up in an era where children's books and movies were not only beautiful and eye appealing, but they told simple stories of love, joy, happiness, hope and sometimes even sadness; yet always with a happy ending. She aspires to bring those same Biblical values to children through her books with lessons in I Co.13; love, thankfulness, kindness, endurance, joy and more. Common threads in her writing style are the use of French words and phrases, reflective of her years living in France; and the presence of humor, which she regards as something to be valued.
