John Howard Bertram Masterman (1868-1933) was the inaugural Anglican Bishop of Plymouth. Educated at University College School and St. John's College, Cambridge, his works include The Rights and Responsibilities of National Churches (1908), The Dawn of Medieval Europe (1910), Birmingham (1920), and In the Footsteps of the Master: Sermon Outlines on St. Mark's Gospel (1922).
