Driftwood Holly is truly exceptional. A courageous adventure musician, enthusiast, enabler and recently also an author. His life story is captivating and full of living experiences. In his early days he tried his hand as a ski jumper and Nordic combined in Oberwiesenthal located in East Germany. At the age of 19, he was drafted into compulsory military service at the Berlin Wall. He witnessed the fall of the dividing monument and was part of this historical event. After the end of the GDR, Holly went on adventurous journeys into the wide world and found in an old guitar a faithful companion for the occasional moments of loneliness. After many countries and major changes, Holly went on a vision quest. He chose the Yukon River in northwestern Canada and followed Jack London's "Call of the Wild" on his way to the next chapter of his life. In 1998, Driftwood Holly settled in Dawson City Yukon, on "the other side of the river" and has been living a wild life with his wife Kiki raising two children. He drove a covered wagon for years, crossed the icy landscapes of the Yukon with his sled dogs or spent time on his rustic houseboat, the "Wooden Pearl". In all these years, Driftwood Holly has written over 50 songs and stories and in 2013 decided to record his debut album "Little Lilly Mammoth Hair" in his log cabin. During this time, Jäcki Reznicek, a member of the German cult band "Silly", became aware of Holly's music. Fascinated, Reznicek immersed himself in Driftwood's history and finally joined him on tour with the talented violinist Pavel Osvald. The trio's performances capture the zeitgeist and resulted in 4 successful folk albums and countless tours. When the year 2021 dawned and no public appearances were possible, he mobilized all his experiences from his forest and river life and created a floating Yukon-style show stage. With a touch of Tom Sawyer, he designed and built the "Dream ~ Catcher" in just 8 weeks. He then navigated this ship down the German River Elbe and gave over 30 beach concerts to the indescribable joy of the people who longed for art. Driftwood Holly's extraordinary path always leads him to special, magical places. With his first book, he opens the next chapter of his life and is happy to have you with him.
