Genevieve Dantes is a transgender woman. Her favorite books are The Count of Monte Cristo, the original Star Wars trilogy, the Dumas pastiches of Steven Brust, and the Paksennarion series by Elizabeth Moon, all of which have influenced her writing.

She currently lives in Philadelphia with her wife and a large collection of plush animals.

The Ballad of the Grey Swan is her first novel.
