This poetry collection is a true labor of love. Many of you may not relate to the pieces of each section, but I hope you can look outside of your personal experiences and see the work for what it is... art. I don't know why, but poetry has become a medium for most readers to relate to or assist in their personal development. I'll be the first to say I am always deeply flattered when someone says my work is relatable in some way, but that is not the main goal when publishing my work. Sometimes poetry is fun and lighthearted
I want to share my growth, my story, and my talent with the world, and if it helps people along the way, it is a wonderful connection to share. Remember, if my work isn't relatable to you, it doesn't mean it is not worthy of respect or can't be enjoyed. Most of us listen to songs, watch films, and read novels we don't relate to, but we still love them because they make us feel something. And suppose you exclusively consume any form of art for its relatability. In that case, you are missing out on an entire world of incredible art. So, I just ask you to read my work with a full heart and open mind. I promise you'll enjoy and respect my labor in each piece. Even if you conclude that my work isn't for you, I hope you can still feel the passion and love behind my work.

Autorenporträt

Michael Tavon (1991) was born St. Petersburg, Florida to Michael & Desiree Patterson. Although Tavon and two sisters grew up in low income-crime driven neighborhoods his parents instilled the importance of goals, education, and the 'will-to-do-good' in their children. As a child he developed a likeness for literature and television. His first book,"Garage Band The Legend of Dookie Harris", was self-published in 2014. Tavon is currently pursuing his Bachelors degree in Creative writing and will be attending the University of Central Florida in 2018.
