"Hello?"
"Robin. Are you watching TV?" It was Carly, my neighbor, confidant and best friend.
"Yes, why?"
After an exaggerated inhalation, she said, "Turn on channel 169. There's a rerun of Jerry Springer Show you have to see. I'll be over in a minute."
She hung up before I could answer. Wondering what had her so jacked up this morning, I punched 169 in the remote and Jerry Springer's smiling face appeared.

"Welcome back to the TV audience, to recap, we're discussing planned infidelity. Each of our panelist's spouses regularly cheated on them under the cover of weekly, monthly or even yearly events."
The camera panned the paneliststwo men and two women, all average but pleasant looking.

I heard the kitchen door open and close. It was Carly. Before I could blink Carly sat next to me. "Sorry to be so mysterious. This show came on and it started to ring some bells for me."

The camera closed in on one of the women.

"Except, instead of camping and fishing trips, my husband went on yearly deer hunting trips with a friend or two."
"What made you suspicious?"
The woman took a deep breath and sighed, "I didn't think much about it until the day I visited my then mother-in-law and I mentioned Harvey was about to go on his annual deer hunting expedition. Her eyes grew large and by her expression, I could tell she was confused, but she didn't say anything. At my prodding, she admitted surprise because Harvey had never shown an interest in huntingthe opposite in fact. When I mentioned that her house was where he said he kept his hunting rifle and gear, she said she wouldn't know anything about that and clammed up, but the damage was done."
Jerry joked, "Fingered by his own mother. Then what?"
"I'd never met the guy with whom he ostensibly went hunting. All I knew was his nameChuck Akers."
Chantel's hand slipped over the hand of the man sitting next to her. When he looked at her she flashed a coy smile and continued, "That isn't you, is it Charles?"
Not realizing she was flirting, he blushed and said, "No ma'am."
She edged her hand down to his knee and continued, "I looked his number up in Harvey's address book, called and got his wife, Agnes, who thought her husband was going to a company sponsored business meeting for two days."

I elbowed Carly. "I'll lay odds those two end up in bed together after the show."
"I'll say. I'll bet 'ole' Havey wasn't the only one getting some on the side. "
Giggling. I picked up the remote and flicked the TV off. "But what does this have to do with us?"
