An example of Max Klein's commentary (from page 15):
James 1: 12 : "Happy is the believer who endures testing, for having become approved he shall receive the wreath of life, which He [the Lord] has promised to those who love Him [enduring devotion and respect for the Lord Jesus Christ]."

The greatest happiness comes to the believer who completes the spiritual life, because in doing so he obtains the happiness which God has designed for the mature believer. The happiness of spiritual maturity is a system of integrity and thinking, a happiness not dependent upon people or things, but related to loving God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Since the mature believer has both enduring devotion and respect for God, he has the power, the inner strength to handle any test or suffering in life. After the believer develops a personal love for Jesus Christ, he will receive his final test in life, then upon passing this test he will be approved by the Lord and receive "The Wreath of Life". This decoration is awarded to invisible heroes for maximum production of divine good through the execution of the protocol plan of God, and through the fulfillment of his responsibilities related to his spiritual gift, his ambassadorship, and his royal priesthood. The Wreath of Life is awarded for consistent filling of the Holy Spirit, consistent perception of Bible doctrine, and consistent use of the problem-solving devices resulting in the completion of the spiritual life.

ABOUT MAX

Max Klein, missionary and author, has studied under the teaching ministry of R. B. Thieme Jr., his faithful and beloved pastor for over 40 years. During that time Max has learned many biblical principles and doctrinal truths which have given him a clear understanding of the spiritual life. It is this spiritual life that Max desires to explain in an easily understandable written form via verse-by-verse commentary and messages on various theological subjects, that others may come to know the spiritual life that God has provided for all believers in Jesus Christ.

ABOUT R. B. THIEME, JR.

R. B. Thieme, Jr., pastor of Berachah Church from 1950-2003 and president of R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries, passed through death into eternity Sunday, 16 August 2009 at 8:45 PM and is now "absent from the body and face to face with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8b).

Affectionately called 'the Colonel' by his congregation, R. B. Thieme, Jr. was the pastor of Berachah Church, Houston, Texas, until his retirement from the pulpit in 2003. His distinguished academic background includes the University of Arizona (Phi Beta Kappa) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Summa Cum Laude). His graduate studies were interrupted by World War II military service during which time he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army Air Corps.

After completion of his studies, he came to Berachah Church in 1950. Extensive training in Greek, Hebrew, theology, history, and textual criticism became the foundation for his demanding professional life of studying and teaching the word of God.

Thieme's teachings are based on the original languages of scripture in the light of the historical context in which the Bible was written. He has developed an innovative system of vocabulary, illustrations, and biblical categories designed to communicate the truth of God's Word. The unique focus of his ministry concentrates on procedures for living the Christian way of life.

Books and recorded lectures by R. B. Thieme, Jr. can be ordered free of charge from R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries. See www.rbthieme.org for details.
