I put these papers and wrote on them about poverty and what it is under the heading of poverty, not to erase it, but to be patient with it, and not to research it, but to console it. Then I wrote about wealth and what leads to it, not out of a desire to spoil it for those who have it, but to correct what is understood by those who do not have it, and I addressed all of that in the way that the poet sees in the laughter and tenderness of nature, rather than the way that the philosopher knows in the frown and emptiness of matter, and I sculpted with it the pattern of the mind in broadcasting its thoughts to the soul.
