The purpose of this book is to illustrate for our day the prophecy of Isaiah 61:1-3:

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me.

Because the Lord has anointed me

To bring good news to the afflicted;

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to captives,

And freedom to prisoners;

To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

To grant those who mourn in Zion,

Giving them a garland instead of ashes,

The oil of gladness instead of mourning,

The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.

So they will be called oaks of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified

This prophecy was written of those who are afflicted, brokenhearted and held captive by their own hurts. The promise for those who receive the Lord is beauty, gladness, praise and steadfastness. This book illustrates how one can receive release and healing in the Lord Jesus. It is my prayer that you will receive all the Lord has promised you.

Autorenporträt

Christs can be seen in the demeanor of Carroll Thompson. Though not boisterous of flamboyant, he exudes the love and caring of the Lord through his ministry and through his personal example. Not a man of superfluous word, he attacks issues in a concise and tidy manner.

Thompson is a graduate of Draughons School of Business and Stephen F. Austin College and holds a BD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He ministered as a Baptist missionary to Brazil and Portugal, organized a seminary, directed a seminary extension division and pastored several mission churches.

He encountered unclean spirits while in South America, but it was not until he was baptized in the Holy Spirit that he operated in the deliverance ministry with full power. Since his infilling, Thompson has seen hundreds delivered from the stranglehold of the enemy.

Carroll Thompson was a teacher at Christ for the Nations Institute, Dallas, Texas for 14 years. He taught a variety of Bible and theology classes. His class entitled "Deliverance" proved to be one of the most popular.

Carroll now teaches and ministers at various Churches, Bible Colleges, and Conferences worldwide. The Thompson family resides in Dallas, Texas.
