Delanie Stephenson was a ninth-grade history teacher at Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Virginia, for eleven years. She was a Civil War reenactor for more than ten years. Stephenson and her husband, Curtis, have two young children and live in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.
