The Castle in Malcesine is a unique fortification and an extraordinary witness of European History. The term “scaligeri" conventionally given to it in the last hundred years is most misleading as the castle has deeper roots than expected and has evolved continuously even in contemporary times. Actually, although founded more than a thousand years ago it still enjoys an extraordinary degree of conservation.
