Nick is forced to grow up quickly when he moves out at age 15 to escape his abuse cycle. He gets hooked on prescription oxycontin after an injury and his substance use quickly escalates into a heroin addiction as he continuously uses drugs to deal with his inner pain, anger, and any difficult situations that may and do arise in his life.

His soulmate, Charlotte, continuously stands by him but can only handle so much before she gives him an ultimatum. Nick must end up making a choice between the two loves of his life. Will he quit heroin and choose happiness with Charlotte and his family or will he choose heroin and lose everything?

Autorenporträt

Jacqueline Bechard is the author of the Nick Flynn series. She currently lives in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada but spent most of her life growing up in and around London, Ontario. A chronic pain/degenerative condition keeps her from being physically active so she is currently enrolled as a mature student at Queen's University, Kingston, working on her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree remotely to keep her brain active.

When not reading, writing, or tending to her studies, she's either sleeping or spending time with her husband and two Siamese cats. Jacqueline also enjoys travelling and watching television in different time zones.
