The hero is very much of a hero and manages to keep the peace and do justice without using his revolver. A little above the average of western stories, interesting, very exciting in parts and with some good local color. This is a western as only Seltzer could write it.

Seltzer's career as a novelist began in the early 20th century, with his works often characterized by their vivid portrayal of frontier life and the rugged landscapes of the American West. One of his notable works includes 'The Coming of the Law' (1912), which is a classic example of the Western novel, bringing to life the transformative period when law and order began to penetrate the once-wild territories. Seltzer's literary style is marked by fast-paced action, strong character development, and an in-depth understanding of the Western milieu.
