There are times when Canadian businesses or individuals use their costly wireless services to contact a colleague, co-worker, friend, or family member who is close by. There exists a service that can do this for free! Canada's General Mobile Radio Service, or GMRS, is a UHF two-way radio service that provides short-range communications without any usage or licencing fees at all. The small two watt handheld radios perform just as well as their commercial counterparts, but at a cost far below commercial prices. The Complete Guide to Canada's General Mobile Radio Service is the only complete reference source on the service and the equipment that Canadians can use for their daily business and personal short-range wireless communications. Whether used on job sites or in and around warehouses or office buildings, or while out shopping at the mall, traveling in two or more vehicles, hiking, camping, or attending sporting events, GMRS can be the perfect supplement or substitute for other pricey wireless services. The Complete Guide to Canada's General Mobile Radio Service provides information on how to select the right GMRS radio, examples of the many applications GMRS is suitable for, emergency communications, and contains and extensive GMRS glossary. For anyone who has or is thinking about buying GMRS radios, this book is the perfect reference guide to get the most out of this service.
