Die Arbeit wurde im Fach Wirtschaftspsychologie geschrieben und behandelt das Thema Selbsterhöhung als Konstrukt und betrachtet das Phänomen auf seine Vor- und Nachteile. The concept of self-enhancement has engaged psychology for a long time. A deep change in perception thus provides a balance between truth and the ideal self-image. Therefore, there are active and passive expressions with this effect, which take different approaches. Various effects have to be taken into accounts, such as the better-than-average effect or the self-serving attributional bias.
