Tessa Bridal recibió el Milweed Prize for Fiction (Premio Milkweed de Novela) por su primera novela, The Tree of Red Stars. Su prosa nos remonta a un pasado y a una geografía muy poco explorados en la narrativa, especialmente desde la óptica de personajes tan diversos como los suyos. La crítica describe su obra como mágica, detallada, vívida y memorable. Bridal nació y creció en Uruguay y en la actualidad reside en Minnesota.
