Essay from the year 2009 in the subject Theology - Historic Theology, Ecclesiastical History, grade: A (1), The University of Southern Mississippi , language: English, abstract: The date of Exodus – and therefore also the date of the Conquest – are heavily disputed. Even though the generally accepted date of Exodus is the thirteenth century B.C.E., different theories propose very different dates. If Exodus and Conquest did indeed occur at a different time than generally accepted, however, none of the evidence presented by scholars for the Conquest could be used any more.
