In the blink of an eye, he awoke from the dream to a ghastly nightmare. He was as white as a ghost with one foot in the grave, claiming benefits in cold grey rainy Blackpool. He had been diagnosed with inoperable stage four mouth cancer and given a prognosis of just six months to live. Syd was born in Manchester and grew up on a council estate. He was nicknamed Psychedelic Syd which was later shortened to Psycho Syd. He stopped eating animals at five years of age and became a Manchester City football fan three years later. He saw the folly of a boring life in a dead end job in the gloomy northwest of England and set off having adventures in the tropics. He has four children to three women. He keeps in contact with all his kids. He has been a single dad to two of his children.22 year old Eugene since the age of two and 11 year old Jo since the age of 4. In 2011 who was living the dream in Vientiane the capital of Laos. He had found the perfect location and the perfect partner. he was living the dream. in the blink of an eye he was living the nightmare. His dream lover had dumped him. He was all alone in cold rainy Blackpool. UK and had been diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 cancer with a maximim life expectancy of six months to live. Even worse he was with his two young children aged 14 and 4 who had no one else but their dying father. They needed him. Syd decided to fight and much to everyone's astonishment beat the cancer. He reinvented himself as an author. His first book was launched in October 2019 and six months later almost 2000 copies have been sold. The feedback has been staggering and all the reviews on Amazon are 5 star. He is now writing hid follow up book. He sparklings with happiness and hope and has a wickedly warped sense of humour.
