Carlos Tablada Pérez (La Habana 1948). Licenciado en Sociología y en Filosofía y Doctor en Ciencias Económicas. Investigador Titular del Centro de Investigaciones de la economía Mundial (CIEM), La Habana, Cuba. Miembro de la Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC). Secretario de Divulgación y Ediciones del Foro Mundial de Alternativas (FMA). Director general de Ruth Casa Editorial, Secretario Ejecutivo de Ruth Internacional a.s.b.l. Bélgica, Profesor Titular Adjunto a la Universidad de La Habana. Como Profesor Invitado ha trabajado en 155 universidades de 33 países. Miembro del consejo editorial de la revista Panorámica Latinoamericana del Service d'information et de formation Amérique Latine (SEDIF) y miembro pleno de su Asamblea de Administración, Universidad Libre de Bruselas, Bélgica. Ha publicado varios libros y decenas de artículos y ensayos en revistas especializadas; su último libro publicado se titula El alma en la tierra. Memorias de François Houtart (2011).Premio Casa de las Américas 1987 con el libro El pensamiento económico de Ernesto Che Guevara, que hoy cuenta con 38 ediciones.
