The events of Soheir's novel "The Passion of Demons" revolve around Maha Al-Suwaifi, who recently returned from Moscow and suffers from her husband's neglect of her, especially after he left her to live with his new wife. So Al-Suwaifi moved to the village of Hod Al-Jamous to live there after her husband occupied the Cairo apartment. Al-Suwaifi faces her husband's challenge to her, who announces that he will contract many marriages. In "Buffalo Basin," she learns about another society closed in on itself, whose people live in houses without roofs, with straw walls, and wallow in the city's waste. The author points out that these people fell from the state's accounts, which is evidenced by many of the negative aspects that she observes in the novel and through the characters of "Buffalo Basin."
