By examining the historical documents and related maps of China, Europe and the United States, the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom, and Japan, the book presents convincing arguments that the Diaoyu Islands are historically Chinese territory, as one of the affiliated island groups of Taiwan. Jiangyong Liu (1953- ), Professor and Associate Dean at the Institute of Modern International Relations at Tsinghua University, specializing in Japan studies. Professor Liu has written more than 30 books and published nearly 400 articles on professional papers and commentaries, including:
