The divided self by R. D. Lange... The book The Divided Self: An Existential Study of the Mind, which is Lange's first book, was published in 1960, while he was still young. The book succeeded in raising doubt about many of the theories and practices of psychiatry, especially with regard to the duality of mind and insanity. The book was a milestone in the history of psychiatry. Which led David Cooper to describe Lange as an anti-psychiatrist, that is, an opponent to the traditional view prevailing in psychiatry. The mind-madness dualism on which psychiatry is based, to a large extent, becomes questionable, and it is this dualism that Lang discusses in this book from an unconventional perspective. Lang was not the first scientist to turn against the prevailing model in the sciences they studied in order to develop it and expand the field of vision in it, and he will not be the last of them.
