"The Divine Comedy. Purgatory" is the second part of the remarkable poem by a great Italian poet of the Renaissance era Dante Alighieri (1265 - 1321). Dante Alighieri is rightly called "the father of Italian literature". Having lost himself in a thick forest, Dante meets poet Virgil and with him sets off on a journey through the afterworld. After going through the nine circles of Hell, the poets find themselves in the Purgatory, where there are people, who were able to recant their sins before death. To get to paradise, they need to be purged, on suffering torments for their wrong-doings. Other two parts of this work of genius are "Hell" and "Paradise". This edition contains a unique rare translation by Dmitriy Min, completed in 1855.
