Residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 1995, Adam Funk has been writing virtually every day since high school-everything from fiction to poetry to short stories. He spends at least three hours each day working on his projects, still making time to practice music on the keyboard, watch movies, and play video games. Of course, reading is near the top of the list. Through all this, Adam has made time to receive a bachelor's degree in English as of 2008 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The world of Maidrenai and its many characters all started with a sword-the Dragonblade. When deciding the type of warrior who would use this mythical thing, Araxious slowly made himself known. Demons, goblins, vampires, and gargoyles filled in the cracks of the story's foundation. After seventeen years, the first tome is completed. His grandmother Mary Jane Bertram encourages him to publish his work often. As she says, "It doesn't do any good to have your writings sitting in your notebooks and on your jump drives." He also uses his writing skills to be an effective advocate for the handicapped, fighting to better the accessibility of public places, such as schools. Since 2012, he volunteers at Opportunity Village as a data keeper and editor.
