Tim Murgatroyd was brought up in Yorkshire. He read English at Hertford College, Oxford University, and now lives with his family in York. Inspired by a deeply personal story, this book is close to his heart - in his twenties he supported a blind former cinema violinist through Age Concern UK who initiated him into the mysteries of that lost art. Tim's writing credits include his trilogy of epic historical novels set in Imperial China: Taming Poison Dragons (2009), Breaking Bamboo (2010) and The Mandate of Heaven (2013). The first two titles have been translated into Chinese. He has also published a time shift novel, The Nazi's Daughter (2017) and a dystopian series, The Pilgrim Trilogy, consisting of Pilgrim Tale (2019), Pilgrim Lost (2020), and Pilgrim City (2021).
