This book, "The Era of Al-Ma'mun," is divided into three volumes: The author devoted the first of them to history and what refers to history, and the second and third of them to literature and what refers to literature, and in summarizing the poets in them, he relied on the mothers of literary themes, especially the book "Al-Aghani"... He divided the first volume into three books in which he dealt with research on the eras of the Umayyads, the Abbasids, and Al-Ma'mun. He sought to be brief on the historical incidents relating to the Umayyad and Abbasid eras. Because they serve as a basis for the topic, and care must be taken to adhere to complete neutrality and not to interfere with those historians and narrators who were influenced by their political whims and sectarian beliefs, and who strayed from the right argument with their exaggerations in the victory of their partisan idea.
