He divided the second and third volumes into appendices to the three books on the three eras, in which he published as much as he could of prose, poetry, long texts, and extensive articles. He took special care to mention a valid sentence from the works of a particular writer and a particular poet, as two models for representing their era, and he took from Abd al-Hamid al-Katib and Omar. Ibn Abi Rabi'ah is an Umayyad model, and from Abu Al-Rabi' is Muhammad Ibn Al-Layth and Bashar Ibn Burd as an Abbasid example, and from Amr Ibn Masada and Abu Nawas as a model for depicting The written and poetic life in the era of Al-Amin and Al-Ma'mun, in addition to other examples and effects that the place calls for, so the second and third volumes came as a complement to the first volume.
