Autorenporträt


Sir John Robert Seeley (1834-1895) was an English historian and scholar. In 1859 he published his first book, a collection of poems under the pseudonym John Robertson. In 1869 Seeley was appointed Regius Professor of Modern History at Cambridge. His essays, Ecco Homo, Natural Religion, and Expansion of England, were his most important works.
