The fourth volume of Mikhail Vostryshev's series describes the beginning of a new stage in the planned development of the national economy of the USSR from 1928. This period became a time of large-scale transformations aimed at strengthening the industrial power of the country. The emphasis was on the development of energy, the introduction of the latest technologies from the USA and Europe, as well as the scientific organization of labor. New plants and factories were built everywhere, people's commissariats were created, in which strategic plans for the development of industry were developed. The pace of construction increased every year, and the Soviet people, despite the difficulties, began to feel that their state was becoming stronger and more confident. The book conveys in detail the atmosphere of grandiose changes and efforts that laid the foundation for the future power of the Soviet Union.
