When the match started, Mercedes lived up to her reputation and tried to beat Rhonda with her shoe. Once the Referee got control of the match, it was obvious that Mercedes didn't need to use dirty tactics as she was very accomplished in her craft. The match see sawed back and forth and went the distance and it was in the air almost to the end. One women emerged the winner and the other a humiliated loser.

Her parents, George Bertrand Christian, an attorney who once aspired to be an actor, and Frances Hollowell insisted that Candice and her sister Simone, be sent to a Catholic school. Candice was deeply religious as a child, at one point thought of becoming a nun.
